This site is designed for both those who are new to couponing as well as seasoned Bargain Mavins, so I try to keep it real simple. I have highlighted the abbreviations that you will commonly find on this site. All of the others are ones that you might find in your couponing journey.

Here are some of the common terms and abbreviations that you will see:

~ $1/2 = $1 OFF two items

~ 2/$1 = Two items for a $1.oo

~ AC = After Coupon

~ BC = Before Coupon

~ B1G1/BOGO = Buy One Get One (FREE, 1/2 price, etc.)

~ B2GO = Buy Two Get One (FREE, 1/2 price etc.)

~ Blinkies = Coupon dispensers, in store (w/blinking light)

~ BTFE = Box Tops 4 Education

~ Catalina = coupons printed from a machine at the register

~ CPN or Q = Coupon

~ CRT = Cash Register Tape

~ EB/ECB = Extra Care Bucks (CVS Reward)

~ FAR = FREE after Rebate

~ Inserts = Coupons found in the Sunday paper

~ IP/IPC = Internet Printable Coupon

~ IVC = Instant Value Coupon (in Walgreens Weekly Ads)

~ MFR = Manufacturer

~ MSRP = Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price

~ MIR = Mail In Rebate

~ NED = No Expiration Date

~ OYNO = On Your Next Order

~ OOP = Out of Pocket

~ PG = Proctor & Gamble (newspaper insert)

~ Peelie = Peel off coupon found on product

~ POP = Proof of Purchase (UPC or label)

~ psa = Prices Starting At

~ RP = Red Plum (newspaper insert)

~ RR = Register Rewards (Walgreen Rewards)

~ SCR = Single Check Rebate (RiteAid)

~ SS = Smart Source (newpaper insert)

~ Stacking = Using 1 manufacturer AND 1 store coupon to purchase one item.

~ Tear Pad = Refund or Coupon hanging for store shelf

~ UPC = Universal Product Code (product bar code)

~ wyb = When You Buy
